This is a great video of one of the most famous SG players ever, Angus Young, performing Back in Black. This footage was shot in ACDC's prime in 1981. Angus Young and the Gibson SG have become synonymous with each other. The tone he gets from his Gibson SG Standard Guitar is what many would consider the reference point for what an SG should sound like.

Eric Clapton’s Gibson SG “The Fool”

Here is Eric Clapton giving an interview in 1968 and playing some mean riffs on his Gibson SG. This was his guitar of choice while he played in Cream and has been dubbed The Fool. The tone he is able to get out of this guitar is amazing and he demonstrates how to get the classic "woman tone". This tone here is what Gibson SGs are all about.
